Control Resonant
Jesse Faden is not playable in Control Resonant. “She plays a big part in the sequel, in the story, in the proceedings – but she’s not playable,” Remedy communications director Thomas Puha says before starting a new presentation on the developer’s upcoming sequel. “This is very much Dylan’s experience.” Puha wanted to clear up that detail, which has been the subject of online speculation and rumor before starting, but it’s clear from hearing members of Remedy speak about the game that they want Resonant to be something new for the budding franchise, as much as they love Jesse and her experience in the first Control game.
“Part of the thinking is these two games stand on their own feet, and they are expressions of the two different siblings,” director Mikael Kasurinen says. “They both have their own way of doing things, but they are each on one side of a coin [...] Part of the Control franchise overall is that we don’t just follow one character. It’s about the world, and then we have different lenses into that world. And that’s what we’re building on as we think about this as a franchise.”
